Comic books are one of the cheapest forms of magazines to buy. Many of this comic books you probably read through the years while you were growing up, however Marvel comics has released new comics as well as superheroes for you to enjoy.

If you are looking for comic book prices for all your comic books then one of the best places to get such a list would be Wizard Magazine which you can buy for a reasonable price and you will get to learn more on comic books and how much they are worth now. Wizard also has an online magazine and they also post the latest comic to be released and when it will hit the shelves. Since comic books also has a cult following, then it is important for you to know how much a certain book will cost and which store will have the magazine nearest to you, so you get to buy the comic book before other people rush in and get it and you find that a copy of the comic is already sold out which is bad especially if it is the limited kind.

There are other comic pricing guides that are available in the market today such as Overstreet and Standard Catalog of Comic Books. These comic guides provide you with the kind of information you need like where to get the rare and valuable comics and where you can get first issue comics as well as the back issue ones as well. The comic guides also document how much you can get if you decided to sell your comic book from the new to the old and rare kind. You can also look for a comic book appraiser to get comic book pricing.

Its always good to have your comic book appraised by a professional if you are looking to sell it. Comic Value would help you understand what you have in your comic book. There are specifications on how your comic book must look. The glossy cover and the brightly filled pages must still look as good as new or like they have never been read before, even if they have. In fact most people that keep the rare editions or collectors comics usually have two of the same comic. That means one was for reading and the other for safe keeping.

Most of the time you will find that the one for reading is different from the one that is all wrapped up in a clean sealed environment and kept in mint condition. This kind of time and conditioning that is given to the comic books can only be done by someone who loves comics and has the dedication to keep his or her comic book in the right conditions, atmosphere and surely knows the comic value. Such people get the comic book appraised and then put in time and money to make sure that the comic is in mint condition. Some of them even showcase their comic in conventions on comic books and superheroes. The comic value goes even higher when more people get to view it and cannot get a hold of another copy anywhere.

It is important to make sure that you keep your comic away from any wet atmosphere or to keep it sealed tight in its case or plastic sleeve if you intend to keep it for a while. Also note that you must keep checking online for more news on how much your comic book is valued.

Looking for rare and collectible comic books? Whether you are a seasoned collector of Golden Age comics or just starting with some recent back issues, finding the comic you want, when you want it could be a daunting task.

Where to Find Comics

The two best places to find comics are the Internet and the world famous San Diego Comic-Con. Visiting the local comic store is still an option, but your changes of finding that Amazing Spider-Man #1 is slim.

In this article, we’ll focus on how to find comics on the Internet. Specifically, vintage comics that are at least ten years old. In general, comic searches will be focused on ages: Golden Age, Silver Age, Bronze Age and Modern.

Surprisingly, the large search engines, such as Google, are not the best place to look for comics. The results you’ll find will be to dealer sites, but not to their constantly changing inventory. Your search will be focused on the following categories: comic book specific search engines, auction sites, dealer sites, classifieds and forums.

Comic Search Engines

Your best bet for one-stop shopping is a comic book search engine. This type of website will search as many sites on the Internet that it can find and present the compiled results to you without you having to visit multiple sites.

The largest, ComicSeeker.com (http://www.comicseeker.com), is simple to use. You type in the title of the comic you are searching for and the optional issue number. The results are then presented from various sites on the Internet. When you find the comic you want, you go from ComicSeeker.com to the site where the comic book if for sale.

Auction Sites

Ebay. Of course, there are other auction sites out there, but for sheer volume, Ebay (http://www.ebay.com) is the leader. On any given day, there are thousands of comics for you to purchase. If you do buy from Ebay, use caution when selecting a seller and always check their feedback. It is not uncommon for the comic you purchase to be in a lower grade than described. There are honest sellers and feedback is the best way to weed out the bad ones.

There are some comic book specialty auction sites. The largest is Heritage Comics (http://www.heritagecomics.com) based in Texas. You can also bid at Vault Auctions, Hakes and OnlineComicBookAuctions.com.

Dealer Sites

Most of the major and minor comic book dealers now have websites. Some have their own search engine, making it easy for you to search their inventory. Some even let you specify a specific grade that you are searching for. Others aren’t quite as advanced yet and require you to click from page-to-page to look through their inventory.

The largest dealer site isn’t really a dealer, but a consignment/exchange: ComicLink (http://www.comiclink.com). At ComicLink, you will probably find the most active trading of Gold, Silver and Bronze age comics on the Internet.

Classifieds

Comics are not usually sold through online classified sites, but sometimes you can get lucky. As with the auction site category, the classified category is dominated by one major site, Craigslist.

Craigslist (http://www.craigslist.org) operates several local versions, so it is best to stick to searches at your local site as the comic seller may not want to ship to you. Our tip for searching Craigslist is not to search. They have deployed a new technology call RSS/XML. If you have downloaded the Firefox web browser, it is easy to take advante of this technology.

First, go to your local Craigslist and type the term comics in the search box and select the For Sale section. When the results page loads, you will notice a small icon in the right side of the location bar of Firefox. Click this and the feed will now be saved as a Live Bookmark. From now on, you can instantly see all posts at Craigslist with comics in the description.

Forums

Community forums are a great way to buy comics from other comic collectors. Some forums have specific topic areas just for people who are selling comics. However, the best tactic is to simply be active in the forum and keep your want list in your post signature.

Some popular forums are CGC Boards, CBG Extra and About.com Comics.

Conclusion

With so many options on the Internet, it shouldn’t take you long to find the exact comic book you are searching for. By using this multi-tier strategy, you should be able to find multiple copies of the comic you want and purchase based on grade and price. Good luck and have fun.

The comic book superhero, The Punisher, has been portrayed twice in films. The first was the 80’s film starring Dolph Lundgren and the second was the recent 2004 film starring Thomas Jane. In both movies, fans of Frank Castle (a.k.a. the Punisher) felt ripped-off because the movies were not what the Punisher was about. They were restraining the Punisher too much and not giving the fans what they want.

When Punisher: War Zone was first announced, the news was mixed among the fans because of how bad the first two movies had been. With a low expectation, this movie turned out surprisingly well, despite how the critics bashed it.

Punisher: War Zone was a movie for fans. Finally, the skulled-vigilante was allowed to be violent in dealing with bad guys all over town.

The movie began when a major mobster being set free after the death of the main witness for his trial. Monitoring the event, Frank Castle was furious of the unfair outcome. He then pursued his own brand of justice by infiltrating the compound where the mobster and his associates were celebrating his newly granted freedom. With the element of surprise, the Punisher wasted most of the mobsters. However, he unknowingly killed an FBI agent posing undercover. The agent had a wife and a little girl.

Also, one of the mobsters survived despite being cut up by jagged shards of glass. This guy was able to recover, but with serious scar problem. Reborn as Jigsaw, he had his own enmity towards the Punisher, but also to the agent’s surviving wife and daughter. Jigsaw was determined to inflict his own pain and punishment to those he hated.

Gotta admit that the plot for Punisher: War Zone was flimsy. But it’s a comic book movie that’s actually like a comic book! The action and portrayal of the opposing characters, Punisher and Jigsaw, drove the movie.

Punisher: War Zone was a non stop kill fest. Just like the comic books. It showed everything from heads exploding to getting decapitated. True to the comic books portrayal of a semi-deranged combat veteran trained in military arms, there were plenty of gun fights. It’s a feast for gun freaks. Punisher: War Zone did not apologize for being too violent, because in the world of Frank Castle, there was only violence. That’s how he got things done.

Ray Stevenson in the title role was an excellent Punisher. He balanced Frank Castle the way comic book fans would see Frank Castle in real life. Not too much scowling, not too much cold expression. Fans of the comic books, at least those who can express their feelings online, agreed that Ray Stevenson was the best Punisher of the bunch.

Also deserving praises was Dominic West as Jigsaw. His portrayal of the insane character was easily overlooked. His Jigsaw was easily comparable to Jack Nicholson’s Joker from the 1989 Batman.

Another character worth recognizing was Jigsaw’s brother, Looney Bin Jim, played by Doug Hutchinson. The psychotic villain complemented Jigsaw in their quest to extract revenge on the Punisher and everything law and order in general.

Now that Punisher: War Zone is available on DVD and Blu-Ray, it’s a recommended buy for your comic book movie collection. It’s worthy of sitting alongside your Spider-man, Batman, Iron Man, the Hulk, and Superman dvds.

Whenever when the word ‘erotic’ comes into the minds of people, they always assume nudity as the most prominent part of it, which is not at all wrong. However, merely viewing nudity in any form does not mean that has to be erotic. Erotic actually means a feeling or a sensation that can send shivers down the spines of a human being. Unfortunately, eroticism has deliberately been portrayed in the bad light by people who consider themselves guardian of so called religion and culture.

Today there are many kinds of channels (such as Internet, films and books) from where people can derive the pleasures of feeling erotic in the most convenient manner. But the best of them are still the erotic comic books that impart a rich dose of the most cherished arousing feelings in a very light manner. These books are extremely popular across the world. It is because sometimes reading and watching strict porn may become monotonous, unethical and harmful at times, to avoid that stage, these comic books prove to be the best recreation channel, as they provide their readers the usual stuff but with a slight touch of humor.

These books are the best ways to entertain readers in the most delightful manner. Stacked with colourful pictures of beautiful women and men, these erotic comic books are a perfect gift for any occasion to anyone who is mature enough to handle the matter in them. These comic books come both for men and women, hence, no gender discrimination here. Illustrated with vibrant pictures, these comic books can be purchased from any Online shopping store. For any lover of vintage erotica, this is just the thing that works as a terrific stress-reliever for its readers.

Another best feature of these ‘erotic comic books’ is that as they run on story lines which never lets them to be monotonous at any stage. Next best thing about these books is the vivacious graphical display in a very subtle manner. This is the very thin line that separates erotic comic books from the usual porn books. With nudity just a part of it, these books offer its readers something more then the regular stuff. The vivid details along with graphical presentation proves to be lethal combination in terms of quality. That’s not all with such a fantastic fusion, it is quite impossible for readers to leave this book and do something else, and letting the imagination of readers run wild. This also allows the readers to share their hidden inhibitions in a most healthy manner. That’s why these erotic comic books are rated as the best.

Collecting comic books is a source of joy for many comic book and graphic novel enthusiasts. However, many collectors have trouble finding comics that they feel would be worth collecting and dont really know what to do with them when they do. There are a number of ways that collectors and comic enthusiasts can find out where to buy, sell and trade collectible comics and other memorabilia.

You can find comic books and other collectable memorabilia in a number of places. Comic conventions are an excellent way to find collectible comics, meet comic insiders and hear the latest comic industry news. One of the best places to find comic books is on the internet. You can find people selling comic books on different websites all over the web. One way to find comic books is in an online market place such as Amazon.com. Ebay is one of the most popular places on the net to find auctions for collectible comic books. Not only can you bid and buy comics but you can also sell your comic books through Ebay as well. Another place to find comics is from an online comic book store such as Things From Another World or SuperHeroStuff.com.

You can also find collectible comic books online in comic collecting forums. One of the sites that I would recommend is Planet Bugle (www.planetbugle.com). Planet Bugle provides a comic forum, a comic wiki, comic news, comic collecting faqs and other information on collecting comic books and more. Comic forums and message boards allow you to connect with other collectors who are selling, buying and trading comic and can provide you with information and insight on collecting comic books.

As you start to accumulate more and more comic you will need to find ways to keep track of your comic book collection. One effective method is to use a database software such as Collectorz.com’s Comic Collector. This will allow you to catalog your comic collection automatically.

We have read them, throughout the years and have followed them like a cult following and even now as they create more films with our favorite characters we cant help but buy the DVD. Marvel comic books have been around for a long time and have entertained us as kids and still do for most people as adults too. Who can even forget the famous words of the Hulk smash em or Hulk Smash which usually where the only words he spoke and of course my spider senses are tingling which was what Peter Parker, who is basically Spiderman would say when he felt trouble was on the way.

Over the years the way the comics were changed and infact they can now be downloaded from internet or read online, which now takes comic books even further than they could get before, and they are now reaching people who had never heard of Daredevil or Electra nor read about them.

The Marvel Comic Books have through the years changed with different artist taking over the helm of drawing the character according to the original only with their design, making also the theme of the comic books change. The new ones have even changed the outfits with Wolverines tight yellow spandex suit being replaced with leather black and blue. The story has also changed with the times and the presidents that have come and gone as well as the disasters that have happened.

Even with all the changes that has gone on all over the world we still see fit too look for a comic store so as to see what is new in the life of Spidey, X men, Fantastic Four and many other characters that have been portrayed in the Marvel Comic Books.

Even with the emergence of popular entertainment outlets such as the internet and satellite television, comic books have maintained an impressive market share of consumer spending. There simply is no replacement for the unique way a comic can present a story and engage its readers. Because of this, comic book collecting has also grown in recent years with a new generation of readers enjoying this rewarding hobby.

For collectors who are just beginning, there are a couple of different approaches to take to the hobby. Some people are simply fans of a particular hero or publisher. They purchase comics for their own entertainment and don’t concern themselves much with the after-market value of the publication. Other collectors concentrate on acquiring limited edition or rare comics for the sake of achieving a return on their investment. This form of collecting usually requires an advanced knowledge of the market as well as the necessary funds to make large purchases.

There are five distinct eras of comic book memorabilia. The Platinum Age represent the oldest time period, dating between the 1800’s and 1937. The Golden Age covers the years of 1938 to 1955. Silver Age comic books are dated between 1956 and 1969, and the Bronze Age occurred between 1970 and 1979. The Modern Age includes everything that was produced from 1980 through today. Each time period is unique and distinctive in the way the publications were written, produced, and distributed. Obviously the older periods offer the most valuable items, but there are still plenty of rare and limited comics to be found in the Modern Age.

Today’s collectors will find a multitude of outlets to help them add to their collection. The internet alone has increased the accessibility of hard-to-find comics to collectors all over the world. eBay, Craigslist, and online comic book stores make finding exactly what you want as simple as clicking a mouse. While these outlets are probably the most popular markets for collectors, there is still plenty of demand for local comic book shows and stores. Of course newsstands and bookstores remain the best source for the latest publications. Ideally, the savvy collector will be comfortable with using all of the outlets mentioned here. You simply never know where you might uncover the next hidden gem to add to your collection.

Beyond these basics of comic book collecting, there are other intricacies to learn for the new collector. For instance, collectable comic books are often graded to measure their condition in a uniform manner. This is done by a professional third-party company which will seal the comic in a protective sleeve to preserve its integrity. New collectors will need to become familiar with this process if they plan on investing in rare comics. Other essential tools include comic price guides and market sales reports which help to asses the value of a particular piece.

Collecting comic books has been an entertaining hobby for many decades, and it does not appear to be slowing down anytime soon. With the continued influx of new characters and publishers, there will always be a solid foundation of new adventures to satisfy the fans. Perhaps the best part about this hobby is that there is always something new to learn along the way. By joining the legion of comic collectors around the world, you are guaranteed to have a rewarding hobby for years to come.
